The latest update adds an enhanced Authorization Service Connector to provide a framework for Continuous Assurance & Authorization to support the new Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) requirement outlined in the White House Executive Order 14028, and helps organizations comply with the new EU Cyber Resilience Act. This is very partner friendly to other 3rd Party SBOM repository vendors.
Our customers talk to us about Edge, nested Edge, and 5 layers of Nested Edge or Leaf devices, how they provision and manage certificates online and offline, at scale, and through an exceptionally long device life span of 15+ years. This is not easy to solve. It is not just about a few lines of code. It is about understanding the challenges, detailing the use cases, and building a scalable solution for all to use these enhancements. We then build this new capability into one core platform (KeyScaler) so the customer has one platform to carry all its security operations between IoT devices and applications, the data that gets created and consumed, and in some cases the People that need to interact with the data securely.
These problems need to be scalable and work in the Cloud. Any Cloud, with any Device and any Certificate Authority (CA) or Cert vendor. Any, Any, Any is often a request that it made, and frankly with the diverse customer requirements across different industry verticals – Medical, Healthcare, Industrial, Manufacturing, Automotive, Smart Energy… the list goes on.
On a final note, this Edge and SBOM challenge is NOT solved by Secure by Design or Secure Manufacturing efforts. Yes, they may help, but only if the devices can connect to KeyScaler OR we make sure we can connect to the devices retrospectively, which we can.
Real-world problems, real worlds use cases, and now, real Governments driving compliance and Laws to take note. This significant KeyScaler 7.0 Product Release is something for the real world, and those deploying real projects.
