Device Authority News Device Authority’s latest KeyScaler software release includes support for Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), a Microsoft Azure IoT Hub connector and support for AMD chipsets.

KeyScaler supports industry proven FIPS certified hardware based HSMs as a root of trust which provides:
  • Secure Storage for KeyScaler system keys
  • Secure execution
  • Private PKI root CA key

This HSM support delivers clear benefits:
  • Assurance - Provides users with independent assurance that the design and implementation of the product and cryptographic algorithms are comprehensive.
  • Industry standard certification - HSMs are certified to FIPS-140-2 level 3, a standard defined by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology.
  • Investment protection - Leverages customers’ existing investment in HSM infrastructure and enables the IoT devices to establish a ROT with the HSMs.

Our Azure IoT Hub Connector provides automated IoT security management, centralized IoT credential management, and reduced risk and improved efficiencies through key features:
  • Service connector that provides Shared Access Signature (SAS) tokens
  • KeyScaler authenticates to devices and delivers SAS tokens
  • Devices use SAS tokens to authenticate to Azure IoT

KeyScaler now supports AMD chipsets for strong device authentication in IoT environments.
